Don't forget to bring your cross country skis if you come for a winter visit. There are 45 miles of groomed trails available free of charge in our area. The "Bait Hole" is 15 miles of trails and loops for novices with access to the Northern Timber Cruisers Clubhouse. The North Twin Ridge trails offer opportunities for more advanced skiers. |

The Katahdin area has over 350 miles of groomed trails, with over 100 inches of snow each winter. Six high-powered groomers keep trails in top shape. You can get gas and meals along the ITS (Interconnected Trail System). Bring your sled and stay with us in the heart of a snowmobiler's paradise. |

| For those who love hiking, nearby Baxter State Park, 202,064 acres of wilderness with 46 mountains (18 of them over 3,000 feet), offers 175 miles of the best hiking trails in the northeast. 5,267-foot Mt. Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, has many trails to its summit. Mt. Katahdin is Maine's tallest peak. Baxter Park is open from May 15 to October 15, and winter hiking can be arranged. There are also many hiking opportunities outside the park. |
